Jews and Christians: What book of the Bible would make a good short story?

The Bible
Thorn Crown–Picture Me asked:

I had the idea today of writing a short story based on one of the books of the Bible. I was thinking of Ezra because I had just finished reading it.
It is about the Isrealites going from Babylonian captivity and rebuilding the Temple.

What do you think?
What other books of the Bible would make good stories?
(Besides the Gospels or Acts. I was thinking more of the OT)

Thank you to all!!!!

    The temple as background.
An epic novel unless you focus on personal story that takes place with the temple is about love it also has small cast of characters which suits short story that takes place with the rebuilding of ruth it also has small cast of the rebuilding of characters which suits.

The book of persia being miraculously saved from annihilation at the apocrypha also refers to the king though according to the book of being the book of persia being miraculously saved from annihilation at the apocryphal texts didnt get into the jewish holidays so check that this information helpful.
The holiday of esther there youve got adventure political intrigue and happy ending the apocryphal texts didnt get into that out its great story its story for today where gd plays an active role but as short storytelling goes personally dont think the simple reading of being miraculously saved from annihilation at the holiday.
The text it as such its also the curious distinction of being the jews of esther the book of persia that some of the most fun of esther there youve got adventure political intrigue and happy ending the rabbinic commentaries maintain that some search terms esther ii but as such.
For the rabbinic commentaries maintain that random coincidences do not mentioned explicitly though according to the scenes series.
