You may not even realize it but there are audio Bible Study programs going on all over the world. Audio Bible study is one way that scholars and students are making use of the audio Bible. Audio Bible Study brings the Word of God to people who cannot read, the majority of the world’s population at present. The Bible on audio CD allows missionaries and local pastors to share the treasures of the Bible to all who would like to hear about them. The audio Bible on CD is also being used worldwide as an aid to literacy.

One of the first steps a missionary or pastor might take is to begin an audio Bible listening group. The Word of God is presented in a language familiar to native speakers, and it begins to work on the hearts of the listeners.

This often leads to the building of new churches. People then come to the churches to listen to the audio Bible and continue after with discussions of what they have heard, in order to build their faith.

Listening to the Bible also helps new believers to memorize passages from it. Those living in a predominantly oral culture respond to dramatic readings of the Bible, and audio Bibles are available in dramatized versions, with sound effects, music and staged readings.

Some places in the world do not have the luxury of reliable power. This might put a damper on hearing the audio Bible, because without a power source electronic equipment will not run. However, improvements have been made in this area with the application of recent scientific digital technological advances. There are now solar-powered CD players that will play the audio Bible CD without the need for any local energy at all, allowing the audio Bible to reach into indigenous areas that might otherwise have not been blessed with God’s Word.

If you are learning how to read, it helps speed the process by listening to what you are trying to read being spoken as you attempt to read it. The audio Bible is used in this manner to help improve literacy skills of people all around the world. Over half the world’s population cannot read, so audio Bibles are being used as one method of sharing God’s Word, and are also used to help improve reading skills.

Illiteracy is even a problem in the United States, where many do no reading at all after graduating from high school or college. This can hamper spiritual growth, if a congregation is simply not reading the Bible. One way to overcome that obstacle is an audio Bible program that allows listeners to listen to the entire New Testament in forty days while spending only 28 minutes a day at this endeavor. Because the audio Bible also comes in an MP3 player format, it can go with you to the gym or on your commute, so that in spare moments you can catch up on your Bible study.

Susan Slobac asked:

The King James Version (KJV) Bible has been used to teach the Word of God to millions of people around the world since it was first printed in 1611 AD. Since then, there have been many different translations that have brought the KJV Bible to even more countries and cultures, including the New International Version (NIV), which was published in 1973, and the New King James Version (NKJV), which was published in 1982, as a modern English version that maintained the style of the original King James Bible.

Since all of these Bibles are printed versions that require literate readers, there are still many people in the world who do not have the means to learn the teachings of Christ. Many of these individuals live in developing countries that do not have public schools or the type of educational opportunities found in more advanced areas of the world. This has been a concern for many dedicated Christian organizations located in the United States as well Europe, and much has been done in recent years to help remedy the situation.

Since hearing the King James audio Bible is a very easy way to spread the lessons and stories of the scripture, there are now Christian volunteers who bring villages the Bible on CD or other video and audio Bible formats that have been translated into over 300 languages. Oftentimes the King James Bible CDs can be played while villagers and children follow along in printed copies, which is a great way to teach villagers how to read as they are learning the scriptures. While some Bible listening groups take place in dangerous countries, it is inspiring to note that hundreds of villagers are often willing to accept the risk because they are hungry to hear the Word of God.

In addition to the clear benefits of bringing audio Bibles to underdeveloped countries, there are also many modern-day Christians that are taking advantage of these newer formats, including the King James audio Bible on CD and downloads of the King James Bible online. King James Bible CDs can be easily listened to while you are commuting to work everyday and you can listen to them while you are doing your daily chores or taking a morning jog - there are almost limitless possibilities. You can also download books from the King James Bible online and find different Podcasts to load onto your iPod or MP3 player.

As technology continues to provide new ways to spread the Word of God, many more people will have the chance to learn about the life and lessons of Jesus Christ. The Bible is already the most translated book in the world and soon it will be most translated book in audio and online formats as well.

How the Audio Bible is Used

Susan Slobac asked:

When was the last time you read a book? You might frequent your local library to pick up titles, but unfortunately many people in the United States, over half the adult population, never pick a book up after they leave high school. Many do not spend time each day reading, and this can have an affect on their Christian spiritual growth. People who do not know what the Bible says cannot grow in their faith and knowledge. There is an easy way, however, to add the Bible back into your life, and that is by utilizing an audio Bible. The Bible is available on CDs that can be played on your computer or a CD player, and also in mp3 format. This allows you to play it on your computer or through an mp3 player. Now that the Bible is available in a digital format, the audio Bible can be used for sermons, for conducting an audio Bible Study, and by individuals with disabilities.

If you are trying to reach a group of people but cannot speak their common language, communication of your message will break down. If you want to share the Bible with them, you will either have to learn to speak the audience’s language well enough to read the Bible to them, or you can rely on other means. The King James audio Bible, for example, is available in over 250 different dialects and comes in a variety of in digital formats including the MP3 audio Bible. A pastor anywhere around the world can play these digital files for their parishioners, and communicate the Word of God in a meaningful way. Not everyone has the benefit of an adequate public education where they learn to read. That being the case, almost everyone can hear, so one way to learn what the Bible has to say is to listen to it, and digital audio Bibles can make a difference in everyone’s spiritual growth.

Bible studies can also benefit from the mp3 audio Bible. Not everyone has time to settle in for Bible reading, or reading is so unfamiliar that they feel awkward doing it, and so avoid it altogether. On the other hand, if the New Testament is broken down into short sections, anyone can select it on their mp3 player and take it with them on the bus, on the walk to school or work, or anywhere you can listen but need your hands free. Just delving into the content of the Bible will improve students’ understanding of what it says, with spiritual results that can last a lifetime and beyond.

Those with disabilities, such as blindness, might have difficulty with printed material. An audio Bible can be just the item they need to help them stay abreast of Bible teaching, and they too can learn by utilizing this innovative technology.

Whether you are out and about, in your car, at work, or at home, you can access the amazing beauty and knowledge that comes from an understanding of God’s Word by listening to an audio Bible.
