What do Biblical Literalists say about quotation marks in the Bible?

In the KJV (or your favorite Engish Bible), are the quotation marks around something God or Jesus said to be interpreted as a direct quote and verbatum, or is it an interpretation that gives a general meaning?

The quote marks are the best guesses of people, but then so are all of the translations themselves.
Nothing in the Bible is perfectly brought over to us from the so-called original texts. We don’t have any of the original texts — not even the second or third generation copies.
In the New Testament manuscripts, there are variants in wording to the extent that if you count every possible variant, there are more of the variants then there are words in the New Testament.

The quotes are translated into english pastor art.
