What is the proper way to quote the bible?

Is it wrong to not use quotation marks?
it depends on how you set the verse apart from what you are saying.

Adding quotation marks to the following example may confuse who is actually speaking.
Matth 4:7 Jesus said to him: “Again it is written, ‘You must not put Jehovah your God to the test.’” (If you had quotations to this behind the word test you would have ‘ ” “,
so it would look like this.
” 7 Jesus said to him: “Again it is written, ‘You must not put Jehovah your God to the test.’” ”
which could be confusing.
