What sections of the bible should I read?

I got a new bible after reading a bible that was mostly old testament and was boring. I am looking for some sections from the new testament that tell of Jesus’ teachings and stories that teach lessons.

    Also, read the book of Acts It’s very good to know the church’s early history.
