The sumerian ark story was written about a thousand years before the noah plagarism. This event (other than perhaps locally when the med opened up and the black sea flooded and became the black sea) never occurred on a global scale. Any compentent geologist would expect to see a distinct layer world wide of debris and the like--and of course there is none--there are no layers in the ocean floor sediment that support anything like this.
